Check this out,
Blackout Lifted
"When an hourlong episode of television is streamed on the Internet, writers would get a flat $250 payment for one year of reuse. That's $250 as opposed to, for example, $20,000 per episode when it's reused on network television."
wow.
We know from broadband providers that HD Multistreaming is not a problem, I learned this tidbit from the VON 2007 conference, so it is not entirely out of the question that the internet of the future could deliver a full range of shows, even complete networks, high quality shows made just like old media shows, but now the writers are boned by $19,000 or so. Interesting.
You can bet the big media companies are going to keep the advertising costs high and keep the difference for themselves.
nice.
